I am ashamed of myself

I cheated. I admit it. In an update to my eariler post, I will be able to watch Veronica Mars and LOST. The season premiere of Veronica Mars will be airing Saturday night at 9 as well. Whew! So for those that did not catch it, I urge you to PLEASE watch this wonderfully written show. It's fabulous.

If you do watch it already, then you know about the HUGE cliffhanger from last season, "Who is at the door to see Veronica????"

Well, I cheated. I had to know. I couldn't stand it. So, I went and read about it this morning. It's that terrible?? There was just no way I could wait until Saturday. Or, actually Monday, b/c I will be Tivoing it on Saturday, as I will be in Knoxville for the UT game. Anywho, I couldn't wait that long to find out! I am just awful... But am now happy with the outcome!

But, I SWEAR that I have never skipped to the end of a novel to find out who "did" it. Promise!
Well, maybe once....

And another thing...

Today is Julie's birthday, and she's one old chica. Ha! Joking...

Happy birthday Jules!

Now tonight, we are going out to celebrate the occassion, which leaves me in a quandry. LOST or Veronica Mars? I can only Tivo one!! What in the world am I going to do? How will I choose?

Oh the madness!!!!!!

The ins and outs of the paper world

The paper world is very small and very large at the same time. You get to know alot of other fabulous paper people who, even though competitors, you learn to respect and befriend. The paper world has its ups and downs, high volume times, and low volume times. It can get quite frusturating at times, and at other times be so much fun you want to do it forever. It's an interesting industry.

Two stationery peeps, whose blogs I am addicted to and visit often, have had two very different past couple of weeks. One has decided to leave the industry all together, which is a shock. They have decided that it is not worth the money, time, energy and stress. I completely agree. There have been so many times during the past couple of weeks that Jules and I have had some heart-to-hearts about what we are doing with HHD, do we want this forever, and how in the world we can make this work in the long run. We love our designs, and think we have really fab stuff, and that is what is so maddening, sad, frusturating, and exciting.

The other peep has gone in the opposite direction. They have honestly "fallen" into such a wonderful opportunity with warehouse space, offices, and finishing that is just incredible. They have the opportunity now to become a powerhouse in the industry, which is so motivating.

So where does that leave the Hi-Heeled Hotties? Good question.... But it sure is fun for now!

A Hi-Heeled Hottie's guide to Fall TV

Regardless if you love designer fashion, fabulous nightlife, expensive shoes and accessories, there are times if your life that you should hang out on the couch and watch great television. (Unless you have a Tivo, of course. I do, and it is a fabulous necessity)

So, here are our picks for Fall TV must-watch programs (and they are the best shoes on TV- promise. And it's all about us, remember?)

This is in no particular order:

LOST - I absolutely love this show. It is the best show on TV right now. Wonderfully written, it is like reading a murder mystery novel every week. Looooovvveeee it. ABC-Wednesday-9/8central

Veronica Mars - It's times like this when I am so glad Tivo was invented. This show is awesome as well. And it needs viewers, so please watch! It's excellent. UPN - Wednesday - 9/8 central (boo)

Nip/Tuck - not only are the hotties on this show completely delishious, but the actual show is as well. You can't miss this one. It's fabulous. Fx - Tuesday - 10/9central

Desperate Housewives/Grey's Anatomy - I really don't like Desperate Housewives that much (it's really a stupid show that for some reason is this phenomenon). However, b/c it is a phenomenon I will ask you to watch. And, also b/c Grey's Anatomy comes on afterwards, and it is a quite fun show (and the hottie factor in this one is yummy as well - Patrick Dempsey) ABC - Sunday - 9/8central

How I Met your Mother - This show is a good sitcom. It's really funny, and I liked it. Give it a chance CBS - Monday - 8:30/7:30 central

Las Vegas - The hottie factor is in play for the girls as well as the boys. I don't watch it alot, but it's still fun... NBC - Monday 9/8 central

Boston Legal - A quirky, dramedy. Good fun. ABC - Tuesday 10/9 central

Laguna Beach - (you know my feelings already on this show) MTV - Monday - 10/9 central, and reruns

The Office - Sooo funny. NBC - Tuesday - 9:30/8:30 central

Stacked - Ha! Joking...

Americas Next Top Model - You just must simply watch this show! It's fabulous! It's addictive! UPN - Wednesday - 8/7 central (Lead in to Veronica Mars)

The O.C. - This show is kinda going down hill, but it's still a guilty pleasure. (and quite sad, as I have their theme song as the ring on my cell phone) Fox - Thursday - 8/7 central Up against:

Alias - This will be the best season yet, if only for the Jennifer Garner/Michael Vartan gossip. So, you must watch. ABC - Thursday - 8/7 central

Those are my reccomendations. I also watch the CSIs, Without a Trace and other shows, but everyone is watching those already. So, please watch my reccomendations as well, because they are scrumptious.

What a glorious day...Tennessee 30, LSU 27

Holy, freaking crap. I *heart* the Vols. I *heart*our players. I *heart* Rick Clausen. We have played the greatest game ever. And I am so happy. This is simply fabulous. For those that didn't watch it, oh my....

GO VOLS!!! (and I really don't feel guilty even though LSU's quarterback housed Fats Domino after Hurricane Katrina, even though I should)

WooHoo!!!!!

Holy Sh**! It really happened!

THEY DO! Demi Moore, 42, and Ashton Kutcher, 27, married Saturday night at a Beverly Hills home in a Kabbalah ceremony, Us Weekly and People report. About 100 of their closest friends and family members attended, including Moore's ex-husband Bruce Willis, their three daughters and Lucy Liu.

Will post more later. Don't have much time at the moment. Thought I would post good gossip!

Since Mandy is gone....

I'm taking this opportunity to post as Mandy had to go do something out of town and I'm tired of looking at the blog and seeing it hasn't changed. Also - it's very slow here at work, so why not post?

When I Googled myself it pulls up some other Julie that is a world famous architect. Guess my high school peeps that Google me will see that and think I'm doing very well. I didn't get that "I'm so famous" feeling that Mandy did. Oh well.

Has been a rather sad week for me. My Ole Miss Rebels got beat by Vanderbilt last weekend. VANDERBILT!!! Are you kidding me? It was a hard fought game between two mediocre teams - but fun nonetheless. I was on TV...along with my little girl. We flirted forever with the cameraman and finally got some air time! Thank you Jefferson Pilot Sports. Also got a nice sunburn which had me as red as a lobster later that night. Some of my friends from Memphis came into town and we had a ball. Met up with Mandy later on Saturday to watch her Vols lose to Florida. Was sucky football weekend for both.

Not much planned this weekend. Am about to call Mandy and see what is on the agenda. Likely it will include football and stationery. Sounds like a winner of a weekend.

Lastly, on an important note: My birthday is next Wednesday. September 28. Please keep that in mind as you shop this weekend...I can give you my address later to mail gifts too. Kidding.

Peace Out - Julie

I am famous. I always knew I was a famous socialite...

My good friend from high school contacted me the other day via email. She had no idea how to get in touch with me, as we both now live in different cities. So, she googled me. Imagine her surprise when she when she typed in my name, which brought up all kind of articles and press releases, and websites with my name on them. (Well, they were, of course for Hi-Heeled Designs) But still...

Neato, huh? So, I then googled myself as well, and I must say, Wow! I am quite the famous diva, aren't I? Who knew? Paris Hilton? Sure, she's famous I guess. But, I sooo am too.

Another neat thing (now that I am a celebrity I can tell you) We all have blogs! Of course, my blog is the best; but if you want, you can read about the day-to-day life of my peers:

Enjoy! TaTa!!

Emmy wrap up

Okay, I have stalled posting this. I have not meant to, but sometimes you have moments (like yesterday) when you start freaking out about money, business, etc. So, basically I was a crazy person who did not sleep very much. Now all is not solved, but a little better today. As Scarlet O'Hara would say, "Tomorrow is another day!"

As for the Emmy's.. Who all watched it? Raise your hands! Hoepfully, you did. It wasn't the greatest I have seen, but still juicy. Julie and I play this game pretending that we are going. Then we talk about what designers we will wear and what our dresses will look like, and how our hair will be done. I was going to wear a dark turquoise Carolina Herrera strapless gown with my hair very straight and very sleek with some Harry Winston diamond dangle earrings (Sexy, no?)
I don't remember what Julie was going to wear. Maybe she will post and let us know.

Some thoughts:

Ellen Degeneres hosted. I love her, I really do, but alot of her jokes fell flat and I don't think she did as well and she could have. And yet there were some "laugh out loud" funny segments as well. I just wanted her to be better...

Who looked the best: Marcia Cross, Maggie Grace, Kristen Bell, Gulianna DePandi (from E!) Kristin Veitch (E!) Nicolette Sheridan, Heidi Klum (she JUST had a baby 6 days ago, are you kidding me??) Jennifer Garner (what a cutie pie! Ben just went on inside and let her walk the red carpet solo, as it was her night, not his - *swoon*)

Who looked ok: Eva Longoria (didn't like it. I tried on a top in Rampage with the exact same neck line. - Red Carpet should not be mainstream) Halle Berry (Her dress looked like a night gown, sort of) Terri Hatcher - (Her chest looked funny - looked to long before her boobs started)

Hottie Hots: Adrien Grenier, Chris O'Donnell, and Matthew Fox. Wow. You could lick them up with a spoon.

Surprises: Desperate Housewives didn't win for best comedy - Everybody Loves Raymond did (Ha! - I can't help it, they get on my nerves) - Felicity Huffman beat out the other gals to take home best supporting actress. Yea her! ( I do like her, though) - LOST won best drama! Yippee! (LOVE it) - Tony Shalhoub won again for MONK. That was kind of surprining. Didn't think he would win again. And Patricia Arquette beat our all the other fabulous leading ladies to win best actress in a drama.

All in all, a good time. Good broadcast. Star Jones is awful, and Kathy Griffin is hysterical. She gets on my nerves, but boy is she funny. We had some good speeches. I don't know if we needed to hear about Felicty Huffman and William H. Macy getting busy in a field, but whatever. It was sweet.

Isn't the picture funny? I love Jeremy Piven!! :)

TaTa!!

Laguna Beach **Update**

I am still v. confused by this show, and yet I love it. I found out some scoop and thought I would share:

This from our TV maven Kristin on E! Online:

Says she, "I just ran into one of the cast members and had a very candid talk about how that show goes. I'm plotting an expose! Word is those kids make a ton of money (way more than they did in the first season), partly because the show is doing so much better in the ratings, but also because they've all signed exclusivity deals, meaning they can't do commercials/guest spots/etc., because they're supposed to stay "high school kids" for the legitimacy of the show."

Hmmm...thoughts to ponder.

Yay Us!

Yay for us.! We are featured in the Wickedly Chic fashion website as a "Venus Envy". Go check it out...

What the?

Okay, as you all know, I have reported that Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney are just fine. Well, for those that don't already know, they are splitting up!!!

I have been scooped, and I am NOT happy about it. And not just that, she is filing an annulment and she is stating "fraud" as the reason. What the? Fraud?? What in the world is going on around here?

For those who assume I am quite celeb-obsessed, well, I am. Now, this matter is quite humorous as Julie called me at 7:45 am this morning to tell me about this. We are sad, I know. This really does upset me though. Who doesn't love Kenny? Dear me, this is not good. I mean, I emailed Ted Casablancas (E! Online) to assure him that they are fine. How embarassing. See? This is why I changed my major from Broadcast Journalism to Political Science. I didn't want to be a reporter, I wanted to be president. Ha! I did minor in broadcating , though, so I did know better not to report without confirming the lead on the gossip. But that's what gossip is though, right? Why are they splitting up?

Star magazine is reporting they have only apparently spent a grand total of 15 days together since their wedding...Hmm, that'll do it.

The Emmy's are Sunday night! Don't miss it! I love awards shows!! They are the most Fab. For a complete run-down of the nominees, click here. For Watch with Kristin's predictions, click here.

Who ya gonna watch for red carpet coverage?? Star Jones on E!, or Joan Rivers on the TV Guide Channel? Tough decision, I know...

And then *poof* - Her beautiful idea turned into a pumpkin at midnight

Okay, so this great new line I have been talking about doing for 2006? I sort-of found something along the same idea being done by another company. I found it online today researching. It makes me v. sad and v. frustrated. We just have to make it so that it is "ours", which we certainly will do... Oh, pooh, We can do it!! It will be awesome, fantastic, and our line will be Absolutely Fabulous and Very Different in our own Hi-Heel way. We are v. excited, right? Right. Aargh...

I am just so mad! I wish my best friends online paper community would come back online!! Come back! This would be a perfect question to pose...

We got into a situation this year with a company that basically copied our whole look. Turns out it was a former store, which makes it much worse. So, we know how it feels, and it sucks. So, we definately don't want to step on toes.

On another note:

Google now has a blog search! How fun. Beacuse everyone needs one more thing to occupy their time...

Can't find out any more about Baby Spears. Which is driving me crazy. Her perfume did come out today as well.

And supermodel Heidi Klum recently gave birth as well. To "Henry Guenther Ademola Dashtu Samuel". Yes, honestly, that is the kid's name. Crazy, no? Ah, but Daddy Seal's name is "Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Samuel". So, the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree. (And I'm not talking about Gwyneth Paltrow's "Apple". )

Ha!!!

This just in...

Britney Spears has given birth to a little baby boy. Her and KevFed apparently welcomed their new baby into the world this afternoon. More to come later. Congrats you two! Now those in the stationery industry are now wondering what her baby announcements will look like, and what company she will choose...Hmmmm.....

She danced the night away in her high heel shoes...

Delish Gulity Pleasure...

I *heart* Laguna Beach. I am an addict. It is a fabulous show that is deliriously addictive. Is it real? Is it fake? Isn't Kristen a senior this year? Why is she on Regis and Kelly? Why? Does she just miss class? Do her teachers just O.K. this? What is going on with her and Stephen? Were cameras just in his dorm room when she broke up with him? Why is everyone posing happily for the promo poster if they just hated each other last week when they were getting pedicures? Oh dear, I am officially a junkie. LOVE it. Go get the Season 1 DVD. Watch it on MTV. I promise you will love it.

Sunday night, checking off lists

Count them:

5 retail orders
1 new store order
1 partial new store order
1 partial new store order
1 friend order

Not too shabby. Yea us. Jules came over today and we knocked a ton out. A group of us went to Cross Corner Sports Bar this afternoon to watch the Tennessee Titans take on the Pittsburg Steelers. And boy, did they not. They basically got a bit embarassed.

We then came back home and did some HHD. I forget how completely awesome it is to have us do it together! So much fun, and yet so much gets done! Love it...

Then, I decided how funny it would be to actually get an office space, which I would love to do in the future. Here we sat. In the middle of boxes of cards waiting to be folded, envelopes waiting to be counted, bags and boxed galore, we say on our knees. (sort of like in a fort).

I thought how humorous it would be to actually work in a office and people would walk by and look at us in the floor of the office in a middle of a big pile of crap. I would assume they would find it a bit weird, and probably hysterical. Not your typical office job, thats for sure.

Now, I did think we were going to have to file worker's comp as Julie got a bit of a paper cut while opening shrink-wrapped invitations. Oh, the dangers and woes of a paper company. Between our clumsiness, paper cuts, and actually operating a paper cutter, we are lucky, lucky gals I tell ya. Party pics will be posted tomorrow, hopefully. And Julie said she may grace us with her presence. We'll see.

A hottie can never make up her mind

The Hi-Heeled Designs website is re-done. AGAIN. I have changed it completely three times now. Why can't I make up my mind? Hmmm, I guess that makes me a typical woman.

To quote my idol Marilyn Monroe:

"I don't mind living in a man's world, as long as I can be a woman in it."

So, I guess it's not so bad being indecisive. Go check it out.

UGG. (And am not talking about last season's celebrity "it" boots)

I have felt better. Honestly, I have. Am v. tired today. I celebrated my birthday, though!

Went to dinner at a place here in Nashville called Kobe. It's a Japanese steakhouse, and very good. Drank many, many Miller Lights. Then went to a place on 12th avenue called Mafioza's. Mazioza's is a cute little Italian place which many Nashvillians like to venture to eat and hang out. It was so much fun, though because there were alot of friends there, and it was my birthday. So, of course, I felt fabulous. Now, really they were all just gathered there to welcome in the NFL season with it's first regular season game. But, in "my head" everyone was there to celebrate my birthday. (and I'll not hear otherwise, kay?)

Needless to say, am not feeling too kosher today.

And yet another fab night is planned tongiht as well. A friend of another friend's birthday was also yesterday, so us gals are going out tonight. We strating out at Jackson's in the Village for dinner, then on to the Tin Roof, where my fave band ever, Henry and the Seahawks will be playing. The Tin Roof is a local happening place on Music Row. We may be lucky, because Tin Roof is a place many celebrities have been known to stop in, hang out, and even sing a song or two. Keith Urban, Bret Michaels, Rascal Flats, Russell Crowe, and Peyton Manning to name a few.

UGG. Have to get my head in gear. Tonight will be another long one.

Talked to the Stationery Show today, and hopefully we will get the booth/area we want. Wishful thinking, I know, so we'll see.

Ta Ta!

Today is a fabulous day

because it's my birthday. Yes. It's all about me today. Everyone loves me today. Today is my day. Mine and only mine. Happy Birthday to me. 27 never felt more fabulous. And I am fabulous on my v. special day. Aren't all hotties? Birthday girls are pretty girls...

Yay for celebs stepping up to the plate!

A list of who (or so I've have read in gossip columns - and that is HONEST reporting, right?) has dontated or volunteered to help out the victims of hurricane Katrina(Just thought you would want to know, as I am always curious):

  • Nicholas Cage - donated 1 million
  • Jay-Z and "Diddy" not only donating 1 million, but have also pledged lots of clothes from their clothing lines, Roc-A-Wear and Sean John. Jay-Z said he had put in calls to NBA star LeBron James and rapper Kanye West for donations.
  • Celine Dion has donated 1 million
  • Wacko Jacko has pledged to record a song and it will be entitled "From the Bottom of My Heart," and also plans to enlist help from other artists. Thanks Michael. Seriously. Thanks.
  • Oprah Winfrey was in the Gulf region last week and has called out to celebs for any help they can give. She enlisted the help of Julia Roberts and Jamie Foxx, who helped out by serving food to over 5000 in shelters in Dallas.
  • Matthew McConaughey and Faith Hill brouht "joy" to survivors in LA and MS in a televised show. Thanks for that, by the way.
  • John Travolta piloted his private plane to shelters in the southeast, delivering much needed vaccines and helping to replenish medical supplies.
  • Geogrge Clooney has donated 1 million to the United Way hurricane relief fund
  • Colin Farrell and Paris Hilton helped raise tons of money at an auction. They sold themselves for dates. Farrell went for $20,000 and Paris went for $200,000. Farrell boosted the fund by paying $50,000 for a portrait of Ray Charles.
  • Broadway Cares has donated $100,000 to The Red Cross in the name of the entire Broadway community to aid the hurricane relief on the Gulf Coast.
  • Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong will donate $500,000 to help cancer patients displaced by Hurricane Katrina get treatment.
  • A joint telethon is in the works for all major networks - ABC, NBC, CBS, BET, MTV, VH1, etc. I really love this idea of having the poor people pledge $10 to celebs.
  • Jerry Lewis is donating a portion of his proceeds from his famous Muscular Dystrophy telethon to aid teh victims
  • Hilary Duff has donated $250,000
  • The Recording Academy, which administers the Grammy Awards, has established the MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund, and pledged an initial donation of $1 million "for music people affected by Hurricane Katrina." The money will be used to provide assistance with basic living expenses (shelter, food, utilities, transportation), medical expenses, clothing; instrument and recording equipment replacement and more.
  • Dave Matthews planning a Sept 12th concert in which all proceeds will got to relief efforts.
  • Nashville's Grand Ole Opry and television network Great American Country (GAC) announced plans for Country Reaches Out: An Opry Benefit for the American Red Cross to assist with hurricane relief.
  • Morgan Freeman is organizing an auction in partnership with CharityFolks.com. Running through September 16, items for sale include tickets to the premiere of Freeman starrer An Unfinished Life. Jay Leno has also announced that he'll auction off one of his Harleys, to be covered with celebrity signatures.
  • Ellen DeGeneres also plans to announce a hurricane relief fund. The show's producer, Warner Bros. Entertainment, said it would donate $500,000 US and match viewers' contributions up to the same amount.
  • Rapper Master P, whose house in New Orleans was destroyed, has formed a foundation called Team Rescue to "save the neighborhood and rebuild our communities." On Thursday, he was still looking for missing family members in the area.
  • At Sept. 17, Bill Cosby, Wynton Marsalis, Elvis Costello and Diana Krall will perform the Higher Ground Hurricane Relief Benefit Concert for Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York.
  • Pat Sajak, who was taping Wheel of Fortune in New Orleans last week before the show canceled early to get out of town, said he had donated $100,000 US through the Lesley and Pat Sajak Foundation.
  • Beginning Tuesday, Jay Leno will ask his guests on The Tonight Show to sign a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that will be put up for auction later this month on eBay. Earlier this year, Leno raised $810,000 US for tsunami victims in Asia, by doing the same thing.
  • You can also bid on a Gibson guitar signed by those who partcipated in last weekend’s telethon including Harry Connick, Jr. Hilary Swank and Chris Tucker.
  • Louisiana native Britney Spears, who was raised in Kentwood, says her "thoughts and prayers go out to everyone" in the states along the devastated Gulf Coast. "All of my family members there are safe and thank you to all my fans for your concern," Spears, 23, has posted on her Web site. (Come ON Britney - donate for the LOVE!)
  • Harry Connick Jr. has been down there in New Orleans visiting with teh survivors. (Love him!) He said, "New Orleans is my essence, my soul, my muse, and I can only dream that one day she will recapture her glory. I will do everything within my power to make that happen," Connick said.
  • Bestselling writer John Grisham and his wife will contribute $5 million US to a relief fund they established this week at a Tupelo bank to help Mississippians rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
  • The NFL will donate $1 million to the American Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina
  • Here are some more business helping out.

That's just a partial list. Thought you all might like to know! :) Now, if you don't want to wait around for a telethon, please donate by going to these fine organizations.

It's late..

and I want to go to bed.

Much to do. In the new collection that I am thinking about, it will involve old classics in a new twist. This means starting over from the original drawings on paper. We have a big designs/scrap paper folder that is quite full.

This is really fun. It's like going down memory lane. Thinking of what we were doing when Julie was drawing (Vodka tonics, maybe?) They are funny. How silly we were when we were just starting out. The drawings that made it in the collections, & ones that made us laugh our a$$es off. (Too, too many vodka tonics at that point). Okay, I've got to go. Watching Taradise on E! right now as well. Oh My God. Hysterical.

Fun Stuff and Not

Not:
I was up like a light at 4:00 this morning. All of a sudden everything hit me and I started getting v. overwhelmed. I have so much to do with Hi-Heeled Designs. We STILL have album orders have have not been shipped out from the Stationery Show. I have two orders sitting in my office from reps that need to be sent out. I have a fax machine with orders that have to be processed. I have personal orders from friends that - if I do not do these soon these people will no longer be my friends. Invoices. Jeez, I have GOT to do these. Stores could be just sliding all along with invoices that are like, a year past due. Press, press press. Have GOT to send out info this week for Holiday press. Have tried to re-do the Fashion Flair Cards website AGAIN. I just can't decide what I like. And, of course, it's making me want to re-do the Hi-Heeled Designs websites well. Ahhh, the life of the owner of a fabulous stationery company. Ain't it grand?

I have been a press whore today. I have magazine and press contacts out the wazoo. Honestly it's scary how focused I have been. All in a neat little Excel spreadsheet with names, email adresses, websites, and mailing address. It has taken me all day. I have been sitting at Borders forever with a huge pile of magazines. It better get me something - dang it!

Fun:

Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow are engaged! Anything that has a connection to Nashville is fabulous. What? You didn't know that Sheryl Crow has a house here? Shame on you.
But, I am happy for them. Good for them

The first season of LOST is out on DVD. Please, please buy/rent it if you have never seen it. You must be prepared for Season 2 or you won't have a clue what is going on. And it IS fabulous. Trust me.

And, in not so much fun news, but still celebrity - Gilligan is no longer with us. So sad!!

Okay, I must go. Too busy...

UT 17, UAB 10

I'm back! Woohoo! We won. But barely... and we sure did not look pretty doing so. Here is a pic from the game. The Vols running through the Power "T"(A tradition) I got really burned. It was REALLY hot.

I also finally updated pics from my Dallas trip. They are of us at Billy Bob's. They are of me, my sis, Leslie, and mom. I am the one in white. Go take a look. The one on the bull is pretty funny.

I decided to go ahead and exhibit again at the National Stationery Show in New York. We have done it the past two years. I was debating this year because I was so pissed after this past show and teh way it was handled. The business was good, but not great. They moved half of the paper exibitors to a entire new annex that did not get nearly the traffic. The Stationery Show promised everyone 2006 would be much better, so we'll see. Anyway, decision has been made. We're going back. For better or worse.

TGIF

Happy Friday!

Okay, first off, I TOTALLY forgot to update everyone on the Tater Top awards. Readers of "Watch with Kristin's" column on E! voted and the winners were announced LAST FRIDAY. I completely had no idea. Get on the ball Mandy! So, anywho - go read it. It's fun.

Had book club (Literary Lushes) at my crib last night. This month's read was "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger. Ya know, I really didn't like it quite so much. It has received enormous prase, but I just didn't get that it was a "love story". The girl was trapped, people!

On the paper front: Put an ad out there to get HHD some more reps. Already have received many resumes, so yea!! Hopefully we'll get some good sales peeps to promote our fab line of stationery and notecards. Also, have been working on getting the last few albums/updates out if Jules will get on the ball (yes you. I know you are reading this) :) Have been also quite obsessed with doing a task list and making things lots easier on both of us. The list is just getting longer, though, not shorter.

There hasn't been much on celebrity gossip this week. I guess b/c everyone is kind of focused and obsessed (like I am) on the poor hurricane victims. (Including doggies, kitties, and seals!) Did hear that Nicholas Cage has donated 1 million of his own money to help out. Hurrah for him. V. Good Nicky.

Headed to Knoxville this weekend for the UT football game. Opening game. Wahoo! In Dallas I bought this really cute strapless orange and beige striped top. (Dallas has very good shopping by the way) Super cute. Am going to look v. hot at football game. Am also going to be v. hot at game as it is going to be 88 degrees. Ah well... such is life. Seacrest out. Go Vols.

Fellow Hotties please unite to help out victims of Hurricane Katrina

So many of our friends, family and even strangers have been hit so terribly hard by Hurricane Katrina. People have lots their jobs, their homes, their pets, their belongings...everything. Everyone wants to help, but doesn't know how. I know it seems every time we turn around something else happens that we feel we need to donate to, but please put yourself in their shoes and help out your fellow brothers and sistas.

Ways to help:

The Red Cross What they provide: shelter, food, and counseling.

Crafters United - Want to shop and make a difference? Shop for indie designer goodies such as clothing, purses, jewelry, stationery and much more. This shop is a partnership between Craft Revolution and Etsy, promoted by MyCicy and others, with a goal of raising funds for the Red Cross hurricane relief fund. All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund, which is providing hot meals to victims and rescue workers, as well as providing other much needed assistance such as shelter, medical needs and even therapy for victims.

America’s Second Harvest What they provide: hunger relief. They also need: donations of food, transportation, and products (bottled water, utensils, bleach, disinfecting household cleaning items, and diapers).

The Humane Society - Some people cannot find their beloved pets. Some were forced to leave their pets behind. As an AVID, die-hard animal lover, please also think of them!! This organization provides food and shelter for pets that have been separated from their owners.

Noah's Wish - Another fabulous animal rescue organization - as posted by a blogger - thanks!
