Joaquin Phoenix survives car crash

Joaquin Phoenix's car overturned and crashed into another vehicle when the Walk the Line star's brakes failed Thursday on a canyon road above L.A.'s Sunset Strip, say police. No one was injured, the Associated Press reports.
The Golden Globe-winning actor, 31, was driving eastbound on Lookout Mountain Avenue near Laurel Canyon at about 2:50 p.m. when he realized his brakes were not working, said police spokesman Officer Jason Lee.
Phoenix lost control of his car, which flipped over and collided with another vehicle also headed in the same direction, Lee said. Both parties exchanged information, and no police report was filed.
Phoenix's publicist, Susan Patricola, said in a statement that the actor was wearing his seat belt and walked away from the scene after being helped out of his vehicle by a passerby. Source

A post about the hotties
It's wedding season - and boy is it! I have never done the likes of custom wedding invitations like this before, and I must say I truly like it! Sure, you can get some bridezillas, but (knock on wood) everyone has been very fabulous and easy to work with. They all kind of know what they are looking for, which makes it easy on us. And everyone is so different! One bride wants this very contemporary but classy brown and tangerine on a speckled stock. Another wants a black, whit and a lime green floral pattern with photo. Another one wants a very different looking invite to be folded up as an envelope. And another one who hasn’t quite made up her mind yet. So, I have four weddings going on, trying to get new product done and out, trying to sign new reps, get new catalogs done, market January product to leads, and get ready for the Stationery Show! It’s no wonder I drink too much.
It is almost the end of football season, and I must say it makes me sad. Nothing happens between now and next August. And I won’t even talk about Peyton losing against the Steelers. So, now we have a fabu Superbowl coming up – Steelers v. the Seahawks. Get your football pools ready, your beer on ice, and your appetizers prepared. Remember, even if you are a fabulously fashionable hottie, you are still very much allowed to be a football fan. Especially on SuperBowl Sunday. Cheers!
Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn shacking up?

One report says that Jennifer Aniston is moving on quite nicely from Brad Pitt and the gorgeous actress is now reportedly living with Hollywood hunk and new boyfriend Vince Vaughn in LA.
Marc Malkin says in the Insider:
I'm happy to report that Jennifer Aniston is having absolutely no trouble moving on.
A well-placed source tells me that she and Vince Vaughn may already be living together. Vaughn is said to have moved into Aniston's L.A. home.
No, not her and Brad's old place (sidenote - that would kinda be creepy) but the cozy home that she had way before he came along. Malkin says he has fingers crossed that Aniston and Vaughn's romantic comedy, 'The Break Up,' will be a hit. If all goes well, they could be Hollywood's next power couple. National Ledger
Nicole Kidman really is engaged - seriously

I know, I know. I've posted stuff about this about a million times, but I got some new info and wanted to share, so shut it.

The smitten pair have set a date in March for the nuptials - and the stunning actress is said to be "thrilled" to be tying the knot again. Nicole, who has been spotted sporting a huge diamond ring in recent weeks, has told friends and family to set the day aside for the secret ceremony.A source is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "Nicole is getting married in March. She's the happiest she's ever been in her life and doesn't want a long engagement. "Keith proposed at Christmas and she was thrilled. They're happy and in love." Source

WooHoo! Whitney and Bobby are A-Ok

Whew! This is a load off this hottie's mind.
Bobby Brown is brushing off reports that he and wife Whitney Houston are headed for divorce court. "The rumors are wrong," Brown told PEOPLE on Thursday. "They're false."
Among several recent reports about the couple, New York's Daily News said the R&B singer, 36, was telling friends that he was planning to divorce Houston, 42. (The Atlanta-area based couple have a daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 12). The Daily News also reported that earlier this month Brown was seen with several women backstage at Connecticut's Foxwoods Casino.
Asked by PEOPLE on Thursday how the story started, Brown replied, "I really couldn't tell you. They say I said something about it, but I joke a lot. ... I don't think I said it, but if I did it was a joke. Trust me. ... It's someone that got the words mixed up." Source: People
TV SCOOP!! Friends returning

The wildly popular sitcom is returning to television after each of its six stars agreed multi-million dollar deals to star in four one-hour specials.
Seminal sitcom Friends is returning to television after each of its six stars agreed multi-million dollar deals to star in four one-hour specials.
In a secret meeting before Christmas (2005), Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry reportedly agreed a $5 million apiece deal with NBC bosses in Los Angeles. Scriptwriters have already started penning lines for the four double episodes, which are due to air next year (2006).
Aniston, who has filmed a string of movies since the final Friends episode, was the last to agree to the new deal.An NBC insider says, "She's the one who had been holding out. But she's now agreed to reprise Rachel (Green)."
"Bringing them back is a dream come true. Ratings will go through the roof."Network bosses have also hinted at a second spin-off of the hit comedy, following the disappointing performance of Matt LeBlanc's show Joey. The new program will see the three male stars - Perry, Schwimmer and LeBlanc - pilot a series called It's A Guy Thing. An NBC spokesperson confirms, "Negotiations on future projects are going on all the time." Source

Oh, poor Reese Witherspoon
However, here's my sad story:
Senior Prom. Happy as a clam. Won Runner-up for prom queen. While waiting in line for pictures to get taken for the prom queen court, our senior history teacher (she's like, old) walks in wearing the exact same dress I had on. Embarassing? Oh hell yeah! Not a student mind you, but a freaking teacher! So, yes, I symphathize with Reese. But Reese, at least it was Kirsten Dunst and not Rue McClanahan.
Dunst wore the same designer vintage gown at the Globes in 2003, prompting top stylists to criticise Witherspoon for not doing her homework before stepping out at the awards show. The LEGALLY BLONDE star's publicist NANCI RYDER says, "Although it was disappointing that the dress had already been worn, Reese looked beautiful and the bigger deal is Reese won the Golden Globe for her work in Walk The Line." It's official! Brad Pitt is the baby's daddy!

It's official: Angelina Jolie's children, Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 1, have the last name Jolie-Pitt.
In a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday, a judge approved the couple's name-change request. "I can confirm that Ms. Jolie's petition was granted today," said her lawyer, Evan Spiegel.
Last month Brad Pitt, 42, announced his plans to legally adopt Jolie's two children. Changing Maddox and Zahara's names is just one more step for the pair who are also expecting a child together.
"It's the idea that you love one another and you want to create a family together," a friend of the couple tells PEOPLE. "What's beautiful is you can do it by birth (or) by adoption." Source
Heath Leadger thinks he did a good job

So, he was really excited to be nominated for his role in "Brokeback Mountain". So excited, in fact, that he clapped the whole way through his nomination. HeHe. It was funny when I watched it, but didn't think a thing abotu it. Well, he is apparenlty embarassed about it and has made a statement:
Ledger recalls, "I was there for six hours clapping non-stop cause that's all you do at these events, you clap. By the time they read out my name it was a reflex at that point and I started clapping for myself and I went 'Oh, fuck!'" The red-faced star immediately turned to his girlfriend Michelle Williams in horror. Source

Are Teri Hatcher and George Clooney an item?

The two have been spotted looking cozy at various spots around Los Angeles, and are doing little to dispel buzz that they’re dating. “If I went on a date with George Clooney I would not be talking about it,” Hatcher has been quoted as saying.
When The Scoop asked Clooney’s spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, to respond to reports that the hunky actor had gone on several dates with the “Desperate Housewives” star, he replied, “What is your definition of a date?”
He later came back and said, “I spoke with George and this is what he told me. ‘The rumor-reports, etc.’ that I’ve had ‘several dates with Teri Hatcher’ is not true, but if it was true, you’d be the first to know.’” Source: MSNBC

Whitney & Bobby divorcing???

Oh, please no!!! This hottie won't be able to take it. Who else will I make fun of?
Are Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown finally ending their troubled 14-year marriage?
A Lowdown spy reports that the 36-year-old Brown - who shares a 12-year-old daughter with the 42-year-old R&B superstar - has been telling friends and acquaintances they're splitsville.
The weekend before last, during a visit to the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., Brown was spotted chatting up pretty women backstage while the all-girl group SWV (which stands for Sisters With Voices) performed along with male groups Guy and Blackstreet. "While flirting with a bunch of women, they asked, 'What's up with your wife?' Bobby said, 'We ain't together no more. We're getting a divorce,' " says the spy.If the divorce report is true, then Whitney and Bobby might have gotten their last bit of ink as a famous pair with Ebony magazine's "10 Hottest Couples" feature in the latest issue. The Bravo reality show "Being Bobby Brown" spotlighted intimate details of their marriage. Brown, who's been trying to revive his career as a crooner with a national concert tour this spring, told folks at Foxwoods that he wants SWV to go on tour with him. At one point in the evening, Teddy Riley, founder of the trio Guy, lured Brown onstage to perform an old hit. The song was titled, maybe appropriately, "My Prerogative." Brown and Houston's PR rep didn't respond to Lowdown's detailed messages yesterday. Source

23. I majored in broadcasting though, but only until my senior year.
24. Then switched it to political science. I changed for a number of reasons, but the decision-maker was when I was reading a cheesy beach book about a nosy-ass reporter who brought down the White House. She got on my nerves so bad that I didn’t want to be a reporter anymore. Bad, huh? Whats even worse? I was one of the few people who knew what my college woudl be in the third grade.
25. I don’t’ have a favorite movie. There are too many great ones out there to pick just one.
26. There are two make-up pieces that will never change in my collection: Voluminous mascara from Loreal and Endless lipstick from Loreal.

44. If there is any insect in my house – bug, fly, wasp, etc – I will try to find a way to save its life – I never kill them
45. I have a fear of flying. I didn’t used to. I had a horrible plane riding experience on a flight back from West Palm Beach and the plane took a huge dip right when we got over the ocean. Scared the shit out of me. Not I have to take Valium during take-off. After that, I’m fine. But, I am usually that loud drunk girl on the flight, so beware.
46. However, my cousin is a pilot for a small plane, and I have flown in it. He let me use the controls and take off and land, too. (although he was there for back-up). It was really fun! But this was pre-bad flight.
47. I don’t like riding horses, either. I got bucked off of one once and it hurt. I think my problem is that I don’t like not having control over the situation. Someone else if flying the plane; and the horse can just run over a cliff with me. I also like to be the one who is driving if there is a group of us going somewhere.
48. My birthday is in September, so I was always the last of my school class to do anything: drink, drive, etc, (but not together, of course)
49. When my family vacationed in the Bahamas, both my sisters went parasailing over the ocean, but I was chicken shit and didn’t do it. But I don’t regret it, though
50. While there we went to a restaurant that would serve sharks leftover steak from that day. They would throw it off the pier every night. It was a tourist attraction, and quite scary. Dozens of the huge sharks would come up and fight over the meat. It was very fascinating.

65. I love the ocean. There is nothing better than sitting in the sun with a drink reading a book.
66. I am more of a radio person vs. a CD person. I like variety in music.
67. But not really in anything else. I usually order the exact thing each time I frequent a restaurant.
68. I only had one grandparent growing up. The others unfortunately died before I was born.
69. I love Math. My senior year of high school I had the highest average in the class, and I was the basis for any grade curve on tests.
70. My mother was a math teacher (she is now a guidance counselor) When we went to Dallas to visit my sister, we had a “quadratic equation solving contest”. My sister thought we were the biggest nerds, and she was probably right.

76. How am I just on number 76?

79. I love my blog. It is so fun. And b/c of this blog, I now contribute to two more.
80. I hate jazz. I don’t like any music that doesn’t have continuous words. I don’t like music concerts where they go into this big instrumental thing (a la Dave Matthews, jazz, and indie groups). That is when I make a beer run.
81. I have never been skiing
82. I have never been out of the country (only to the Bahamas)
83. I am forever cold. At any point during the day, my hands are like ice. I have my heater on at work right now. And it’s July.
84. I have tried to make sushi at home. But it’s really hard to do and doesn’t taste the same.
85. I hate talking on the phone. Just say what you need and let’s get it over with.
86. I have a few very close friends and lots of other friends.
87. I am a terrible friend though. They have to make the effort to continue the relationship, because I suck at it.
88. I like making up my own words and calling them “Mandyisms”.
89. I have random dreams involving celebrities. But not hot ones. Usually Bill Murray and people like that. Just normal dudes.
90. I really like juvenile humor. Random, stupid jokes are the best,
91. I have never broken or sprained anything – or gotten stitches. (knock on wood!)
92. I have met quite a few celebrities in my life, but none exciting enough to talk about.
93. I really love living in Nashville. It is a big town with a small town feel.
94. I love reading the comics. The other day I was on the “For Better of Worse” site and read the whole series when Farley dies. I cried like a baby.
95. I have only been to see one movie in the theater by myself. It is a very hard thing to do. It was “Big Fish”.
96. I have lots of movies at my house, but very rarely watch them. However, if they come on TV, I am glued. Weird, huh?
97. If I am watching TV, I am more than likely watching the following channels: E!, The Style Network, and TBS.
98. My favorite candy bar is a Butterfinger, but I haven’t eaten one in years.
99. I was a Disney kid growing up – not a Warner Brothers.
100. I had to go on other people’s 100 things pages to get ideas about what to write about. I am such a cheater.
and 101. I say fabulous too much. The word fabulous is "fabulous". So sue me...bitch.
Desperate Housewives' James Denton still loves Nashville

And what a sweetie! He is constantly helping out his local peeps, and this story is no exception.
He plays the man that can fix anything on the hit show "Desperate Housewives," but this weekend James Denton left Hollywood behind to try to work some magic right here in Tennessee.
Troy and Yvonne Givens lost their home last month to a massive sink-hole. The entire town of Portland in sumner county is pitching in to help foot the bill for a new home! Troy and Yvonne Givens' Portland home is the talk of the town. Saturday night, so was their fundraiser!
A big event with a big crowd. Big enough to draw ABC star and hometown heart throb James Denton. Denton says, "It breaks your heart, especially with those of us in L.A. where everything goes wrong. You can really put yourself in their position. Sort of 'there by the grace of God' kind of thing. And so, you try to help out if you can."
A native of Goodlettsville, Denton is ring leader in a neighboring community-wide effort to raise the Givenses money for a new home. Their old one of 20 years looks even worse is almost completely destroyed. Yvonne Givens says, "It's hard to realize the support we're getting from people in this town, and out of this town. And it is just, it just blesses our hearts." PhotoContinue Reading: Desperate Housewives star helps out local couple
Hilary Swank & Chad Lowe are not dunzo yet

Okay, already posted the break-up, but after appearing at the Golden Globes solo, and enduring what could be the most uncomforable intervew ever by Issac Mizrahi, I can understand why this is:
Hilary Swank is hopeful she can save her marriage to estranged husband Chad Lowe.
The pair announced they were splitting last week - eight years after tying the knot.
Speaking after Monday night's (16.01.06) prestigious Golden Globe awards, Oscar-winner Swank admitted she and fellow actor Lowe are trying to patch things up and haven't yet ruled out a reconciliation.

Matt Damon having a bambina
Damon told reporters in Spanish that the child will be a girl, according to a local paper. “ ‘It [she] will be a girl,’ said Damon in Spanish,” noted El Caribe, according to a translation carried on a Damon fan site. “The actor has advanced in his classes thanks to his wife, who has dedicated herself to teaching him the language.” Damon's wife was born in Argentina.
Damon’s spokeswoman says she has no idea if there’s any truth to the story. “I don’t know,” she told The Scoop. “I haven’t spoken to him since he got married.” Source
Brittany Murphy engaged

Brittany Murphy is engaged to boyfriend Joe Macaluso, the actress's publicist tells PEOPLE exclusively. The pair, who met when he was working as a production assistant on her 2004 romantic comedy Little Black Book, got engaged over the Christmas holidays, her rep said. The ring is a 3-4 carat Tiffany diamond.
No word yet on a wedding date. Murphy gushed about her new fiancé to PEOPLE last year, saying: "I'm so happy right now. I feel so lucky." People
Nice white dress, Brittany. And can someone please tell me how a production assistant can afford a 3-4 carat Tiffany diamond ring?
Golden Globes recap
Overall, v. happy with last night's results. I simply adore awards shows. I watched the pre-show on E! literally all day LONG. literally. I am weird when it comes to things like this. I get really really jealous. I should be there. I should be working the red carpet. I wanted to sit and the little round tables and drink wine and eat dinner and table hop in between commercial breaks. But alas, I could not. Oh well. I will someday...Now, you know that who wins the Globes is more than likely the Oscar front-runners. Yea Reese! (Vourse, she'll be also up against the drama category, so we'll have to wait and see)
