Dolly Parton to join with Elvis Presley to promote TN

I love it when local Nashville news makes national entertainment news, don't you? It's fabulous! (and actually, it's a UK site - even better!) And who doesn't love Dolly Parton? She's a cutie-pie!

Seems Ms. Parton is going to pair up with the late Mr. Elvis Presley for a commercial promoting their home state of Tennessee. They will be shown riding together in a red convertible car through the wizardry of computer technology.

The scene, which is taken from Presley's 1967 movie 'Clambake', sees original actress Shelly Fabares replaced by the busty star.

In the advert, Parton says: "I've played a lot of stages over the years, but there's one I never get tired of that's set for a great time day or night - Tennessee."
Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen is positive the project will benefit the state.
He said: "The idea behind the commercial is to bring together two international stars that symbolize Tennessee's unparalleled musical history. The commercial is a positive, energetic and unforgettable celebration of Tennessee's past, present and future."

Gee! I can't wait to tune in. It seems Ms. Lopez will star in her own reality show. Oh, and it will also be a about a group of dancer who, under JLo's training will try to make it in the biz.

So, what exactly is this show about? Is it about JLo and her everyday life, or it is about dancing and the industry? This hottie is confused. Me thinks MTV doesn't think her and Marc Anthony are exciting enough to hold up their own show alone. *sigh*, if only she was still with Ben Affleck. Now that would be must see TV.

Rosie O'Donnell is the new coffee table girl

Looks like they have found a replacement for Meredith Viera - Rosie O'Donnell. I'm sure ya'll can't wait to hear my opinion on this one. Okay, here goes:

I love Rosie. When she had the Rosie O'Donnell show I was obsessed with her and watched her every day (kind of like Ellen now. I thought she was funny, entertaing, and charitable. (Never mind the weird-ass sidekick guy). So, then she went and got all crazy with her magazine lawsuit/haircut/marriage, etcetera, etcetera. (a la The King and I) So, I think she'll be actually ok. However, the chemisty between the women has me baffled. I cannot imagine Rosie, opinionated, gun-slinging Elizabeth (Don't even get me started with her - we used to be BFFs when she was on The Look for Less) loud-mouthed Behar, Oh Lawd Star Jones-Reynolds and Babs. Talk to me about some Tivoing!! I'll have blog material for months! :)

Ashlee Simpson has joked that she is more attractive than sister Jessica. The singer claims she is prettier than the 'Dukes Of Hazzard' star, despite denying rumours of sibling rivalry in the past.

She is quoted in Scotland's Daily Record newspaper as saying: "I'm taller than she is and my legs are longer than hers …I got lucky because my chest size isn't completely massive"

The singer is expecting her second child with husband Kevin Federline, 28, sources have confirmed to Us. The couple have been married since September 2004 and have a seven-month-old child, Sean. Federline has a daughter, Kori, 3, and a 21-month -old son, Caleb, from a previous relationship. Spears’ 1999 debut album sold more than 10 million copies.

"Britney is 100 percent pregnant again with her second child," boasts Us Weekly in their new issue. When Spears' doctor confirmed her pregnancy she "cried her eyeballs out," says the pub. Spears has known the new baby news since early February!, claims Us, who fail to explain away all the boozing she did recently. Denise Richards vs Charlie Sheen - Scoop!

Well, I must say I am now obsessed with all of this messiness. Smoking gun has Denise Richards' court filing which is oh so fun to read about.

Among other things she claims Charlie Sheen "is unstable, violent, addicted to gambling and prostitutes, and visits pornographic web sites featuring young men and girls who appear underage."

She also says that he "assaulted her" and "threatened her life during a December 30 incident at the actress's Los Angeles home." Richards claims that an enraged Sheen--who was over for a visit with the couple's two children--told her she was "fucking with the wrong guy" and called her a series of vulgar names in front of the children. The actor, Richards said, then shoved her to the ground and screamed, "I hope you f--king die, bitch."

J.Lo, John Travolta confirmed for Dallas

Gurinder Chadha will direct John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez in a big-screen version of the prime-time soap opera 'Dallas'.

The British filmmaker, who directed 2002's Bend it Like Beckham, said she had signed a deal with 20th Century Fox.

Travolta will star as the conniving Texas oil baron JR Ewing and Lopez will play his wife, Sue Ellen.

Filming is set to begin in October, with the movie slated for a late 2007 release.

Dallas aired from 1978 to 1991. In 1980, an estimated 83 million TV viewers tuned in to find out who shot JR, played by Larry Hagman, who had been blasted within an inch of his life in the previous season's cliffhanger finale. source

Charlie vs. Denise: Knock it Out

Wow! Can you believe all of this about Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards? Crazy, huh? Were you like me and demanded to know what what went wrong between them? Were you dying to know what he did to cause her mid-pregnancy to file for divorce? Then were you amazed that they got back together only to split up again??? Yeah, me too. Well, now it seems that she has now taken out a restraining order against him. He has to stay 300 feet away and can only see his children on supervised visits! She claims he has pushed her and threatened her. However, he's pissed.

"Obviously, what has taken place is vile, is unconscionable, is without merit, is a transparent and immature smear campaign," Sheen said. "She's claiming certain things. It's baseless."

In a statement issued by Richards's rep on Friday, the actress said, "I am disappointed that the situation has deteriorated to the point that it has become necessary to seek the assistance of the court. However, my primary concern is and always has been the welfare of the children and this action today was taken to ensure their safety as well as mine."

In his own short filing on Friday Sheen denied Richards’s claims, but said Sunday: "I'm not going to lower myself to become a mudslinger and enter that cesspool of accusation, because that’s not who I am." source

Brad Pitt helps out New Orleans

Brad Pitt and the environmental organization Global Green USA are sponsoring the Sustainable Design Competition for New Orleans, a contest to find an Earth-friendly plan for housing and community centers in neighborhoods ravaged by Katrina.

"This competition asks the question, can this catastrophe be turned into opportunity?" Pitt said in a statement. "Can we create for these neighborhoods and its families something even better than they had before? We encourage anyone with an idea to get involved."

Although Pitt, 42, is currently in Namibia – and awaiting the birth of his first child – with Angelina Jolie, 30, and kids Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 1, he will serve as chairman of the jury when the winner is selected in August.

Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Morgan Freeman have also been involved in Global Green's efforts to rebuild New Orleans. source

A Hottie Post - New York is upon us

I leave for the National Stationery Show in exactly one month. May 20th I will set flight to New York City where I will partcipate in the nation's largest paper tradeshow. 1500 exhibitors (like moi) will be there along with over 15,000 buyers. It's exciting, stressful, nervewracking and fabulous all at the same time. This is year number three for Hi-Heeled Designs (booth number 1752) . Year one was probably the best, b/c we were tradeshow virgins and had no idea what to expect. Now we are experienced and dare I say....more prepared? Probably not. If fact, no. Each year has to be more exciting and more nervewracking and more fabulous. I love our booth. It's red and black and just screams sassiness. We have loads of new product this year, and are actually moving into a new space and somewhat bigger booth. Does that mean more money, more business, more profit?? Hard to say, but fingers are crossed - backwards, forwards, and sideways.

So, now that we are a month out there is so much to do. It's really like planning a wedding. Which I love. And you get to do it every year. Now we are down to logistical things. Shipping/travel/electrical/booth setup, etc. We are down to the wire, and this hottie will be a stress case in about a week or so. Already the dreams are here. I woke up in a panic b/c I thought our product had not been selected in the best new product competition. (luckily it had-whew!) So, bear with me the next month or so. It will be a hell of a ride! :)

Jessica Simpson has resumed wearing her wedding ring – though on a chain around her neck.

"You can still move on and have the memories," a source close to the pop star tells PEOPLE, noting that Simpson, 25, still speaks to her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Nick Lachey, 32. "Nick will always be an important part of her life."

Also on the chain with her 3.5 carat bauble are two crosses – one that her parents gave to her, and another that is identical to a cross worn by both her sister, Ashlee and mother, Tina.

The jewelry pieces represent "a combination of things that are important to her," says the source.

So, what does Nick think? "He wants Jessica to be happy," a Lachey source tells PEOPLE. "But they've both moved on."

Nick talks to Rolling Stone Magazine

Nick Lachey recently told Rolling Stone an interesting insute into his marriage with Jessica Simpson.

"Jessica and I began playing these parts even when we were by ourselves," he says of their roles. "It became a really blurred line. There was a question about what truly was our reality."

Among Lachey's more startling revelations: "I'll tell you how I knew my marriage was over: I was told."

As for lingering doubts about his three-year-marriage, Lachey admits: "I don't know if there were other men. But if she did cheat, it was the result of something bigger, not the reason we didn't work. ... Sometimes I think it would be easier if I had just walked in the house and found her in bed with a guy. That would be clear-cut. End of story. I wouldn't have to deal with the uncertainty of adultery."

Lachey also lifts the veil on his feelings about ex-father-in-law (and Jessica's manager) Joe Simpson. "I don't pretend to understand Joe," he says. "I don't know if he ever liked me. BREAKING! Tom and Katie have a girl!

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise "joyously welcomed the arrival of a baby girl, Suri, today," Cruise's rep said in a statement after PEOPLE first broke the news Tuesday afternoon.

"The child weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches in length. Both mother and daughter are doing well."

The name Suri has its origins in Hebrew meaning "princess," or in Persian meaning "red rose," the rep added.

Namibia Governor: Jolie to Have Baby There

A governor in the remote Southern African nation of Namibia says Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are planning to have their baby there and even give the child a local name, because Jolie "loves Namibia." Samuel Sheefeni Nuuyoma, governor of the Namibian province where Pitt and Jolie have been staying at a tiny beachside lodge, told the Sunday Times of South Africa he had breakfast with the couple on Friday.

Saying he wanted his guests to feel "at home and free," Nuuyoma continued, "Namibia is a country where everyone has the right to freedom of movement, and they must not feel inhibited when they visit this beautiful country of ours." source

Nanny Diaries casting news!

So excited about this one, because this hottie loooooved this book. The Nanny Diaries is what got her started on the Chick Lit craze that now consumes most of her summer days while sunning by the pool.

Paul Giamatti and Chris Evans have agreed to come aboard The Nanny Diaries.The film is based on the Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin's popular satirical tome about a working-class woman from New Jersey who becomes a nanny to a wealthy Manhattan family. Scarlett Johansson is already attached as the lead; Donna Murphy and Laura Linny will also appear.

According to Variety, Giamatti will play Mr. X, the brood's imposing patriarch; Evans is set to be the Park Avenue hunk who steals Scarlett's heart.The Nanny Diaries will begin production in New York this month; The Weinstein Company will distribute the film. No release date has been set. source

ET has confirmed that the Department Of Children and Family Services called and asked for a sheriff's deputy to accompany DCFS investigators on Saturday around 1 p.m. to the home of BRITNEY SPEARS. A sheriff's Deputy Patrol went to the house with a DCFS investigator.

This is a DCFS investigation and the sheriff's department can not release information regarding the investigation

update:An L.A. County Sheriff's official tells TMZ that the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has closed its investigation into the welfare of Britney Spears' child. The official said that his department accompanied DCFS to Spears' home on April 8, based on a complaint. We asked the Sheriff's rep if DCFS paid a visit because the complaint had merit. He said, "DCFS responds to all complaints." He added that DCFS closed the case on the spot, at the house. According to the rep: "Everyone was fine" so it was "case closed source

Congrats to Gwenyth & Chris

She is the first of the preggies (her, Katie, Gwen) to have a bambino. People reports that she her fabu husband, Coldplay front man Chris Martin, welcomed a sweet little boy this weekend. The baby was delivered at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. And, FYI - they names him "Moses" not the aforementioned Mortimer. Moses is the name of a song Martin wrote for his wife in 2003. Whew! Congrats you two!

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard are engaged and expecting a baby, reps for both the actors tell PEOPLE exclusively. The couple have been together for more than four years.

They costarred in 2003's In God's Hands, a low-budget feature produced by Steven Soderbergh that was never released. Gyllenhaal, 28, has appeared in more than 20 films, including Secretary, Mona Lisa Smile and Donnie Darko, which starred her brother, Jake Gyllenhaal.
